Heitor Pagliaro is a tenured professor at the Federal University of Goias (UFG) in Brazil. Currently, he serves as the Director of the PhD Program in Human Rights. 

He obtained his PhD in Philosophy of Law from the University of Brasilia (Brazil), and he also holds an MA in Ethics and Political Philosophy from UFG, along with a BA in Law from the same institution. 

A licensed attorney in Brazil (OAB/GO 32.571) and Portugal (OA 67768L), he also serves as the vice-president of the Human Rights Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association - Goias Chapter and is a member of the Goias State Human Rights Council, nominated by the Goias state governor.

Before joining UFG, he held two tenured professor positions, one at the University of Mineiros (Brazil) and the other at the University of Goiatuba (Brazil). Prior to these, he held three temporary faculty positions at public universities in Brazil.

His research primarily centers on political philosophy, philosophy of law, and theoretical foundations of human rights. He has an extensive record of scientific publications and actively supervises postdocs, PhD, MA, and undergraduate students. Moreover, he is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Latin American Human Rights Studies. He has received research funding from CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), FAPEG (Goias State Research Council) and UFG.

Italian-Brazilian, born in Brazil in 1986 with dual citizenship, he speaks English, Italian, and Portuguese.
